Somewhere Not Here presents simulated night skies as would be seen from known ‘earth-like’ planets elsewhere in our galaxy. Each image has been generated using real astronomical data and oriented in such a way that our own solar system occupies the exact center. Though the images slowly merge from one to the next, earth is always centered. Using the technological prosthesis of simulation in this way offers us a vantage point of which we would otherwise be ignorant, and places us as one of many within the context of the larger cosmos.
